This course provides pharmacists, among other healthcare providers, with strategies for implementing and assessing antibiotic stewardship programs in healthcare settings.
At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Explain how to conduct a needs assessment for implementing or expanding antibiotic stewardship activities
- Summarize strategies and tools to include in an antibiotic stewardship program
- Identify ways to involve key stakeholders in efforts to promote appropriate antibiotic use
- Discuss how to measure the impact of an antibiotic stewardship program with a focus on appropriate antibiotic use
