WHO – This course provides community pharmacists and members of academia, industry and government with the knowledge and skills to utilize pharmacogenomic information in community and clinical settings.
WHY – Pharmacogenomic information in becoming more prevalent in daily practice. There is a recognized need for pharmacists to gain expertise in the appropriate use of these data to optimize patient care.
HOW – The course's 20 hours of continuing education (12 hours of home study and 8 hours of live training) will cover the basics of pharmacogenetic testing, ethical issues, disease-state specific summaries, and information on how to implement pharmacogenomics into practice. Learners will use real genetic data in highly-interactive exercises and have the option to undergo personal genomic testing.
